Role Overview

Foster a guest-obsessed culture across the UK Pub Estate by delivering high-impact training, coaching and development.

Partner with Operations Managers and Pub Partners to build capability, embed a people-first culture, drive operational excellence, and consistently deliver outstanding guest experiences.

The successful candidate will ideally be based in the North or South East, with the requirement to travel nationally as needed

Accountabilities

  • Development: Design and implement tailored training programmes aligned to business needs, driving guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
  • Delivery: Facilitate engaging, high-impact learning (face-to-face and virtual) to embed consistent culture and standards across the estate.
  • Coaching & Support: Provide structured coaching and ongoing development support to Pub Partners and their teams to enhance capability and business performance.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Operations Managers and cross-functional teams to identify capability gaps and implement effective solutions to drive business growth and Pub Partner success.
  • Evaluation & Continuous Improvement: Measure training effectiveness and operational performance, using insight to continuously improve outcomes.
  • Operational Excellence: Embed consistent execution of standards, aligned to brand expectations, guest experience and commercial performance to unlock potential & see our Pub Partners thrive.

Key stakeholders

  • Operations Managers: Partner to identify capability needs, shape training strategies and ensure effective implementation.
  • Management Partners: Build strong relationships to coach and support pub teams, improving performance and guest satisfaction.
  • Food Business Managers & Training Support Chefs: Collaborate to integrate food excellence into training and operational delivery.
  • L&D Team: Work collaboratively to leverage best practice and deliver innovative learning aligned to ‘THIRST’.

Person Specification – Technical Competencies/Professional expertise

  • Hospitality Expertise: Strong operational background in hospitality, with experience in training and development and a solid understanding of industry best practice and compliance.
  • Coaching & Development: Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop individuals and teams, driving measurable performance improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Highly effective communicator with the ability to engage, influence and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Stakeholder Management: Builds strong, credible relationships and collaborates effectively across multiple stakeholders.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understands key commercial drivers and uses insight to improve revenue, efficiency and profitability.
  • Training Design & Delivery: Experienced in designing and delivering impactful learning solutions that drive lasting results.
  • Passion for Hospitality: Demonstrates genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to exceptional guest experience. Believes in the opportunity hospitality offers for long term career growth.
