Plans & Preparation Lead - Selby

Altrad are looking for an experienced Plan & Preparation Lead to join the team based in Selby to support the preparation, planning and successful delivery of outage and project activities across our Thermal Projects portfolio. Working closely with Operational, Commercial and Estimating teams, the successful candidate will help shape execution strategies, develop practical work scopes and support safe, efficient project delivery.

Key Deliverables-

  • Support tendering and estimating teams with practical delivery and execution input
  • Develop job steps, work packs and execution methodologies for outage and project activities
  • Support planning and mobilisation activities following project award
  • Provide technical and operational support to live projects where required
  • Review lessons learned and feed improvements into future bids and delivery models
  • Help ensure scopes, labour assumptions and execution plans are realistic and achievable
  • Work closely with operational teams, planners, estimators and commercial functions across the business
  • Support improvements in planning quality, execution efficiency and delivery consistency
  • Assist with identifying delivery risks, sequencing challenges and resource requirements

Key Requirements / Qualifications

  • Strong Mechanical Engineering Construction background
  • Experience within thermal power, energy or heavy industrial environments
  • Good understanding of outage planning and project execution
  • Experience supporting mechanical maintenance, shutdowns or capital project activities
  • Ability to develop practical work scopes, job steps and execution plans
  • Strong understanding of site delivery challenges, sequencing and labour coordination
  • Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of health, safety and quality requirements within engineering construction environments
  • Experience supporting tendering or estimating activities
  • Familiarity with planning systems, workpack development or digital delivery tools
  • Experience across multi-discipline outage environments
  • Supervisory, project engineering or outage management background
  • Experience working within NEC, FIDIC or similar engineering construction project environments

  • UK travel to operational sites and project locations will be required
