Salary: £36,000 to £38,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Reports to: Estates and Facilities Manager
Location: Harlow, Essex. Easily commutable from London Liverpool Street or Tottenham Hale Station. We offer a free minibus service to/from Harlow Town Train Station as well as free parking and EV charging on site.
Extra Information: Open to conversation on flexible and compressed working arrangements.
About the role:
We are looking for a Compliance Lead to join our team, with a strong background in environmental management and/or health and safety. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Motability Foundation’s Integrated Management System, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation as well as internal health, safety, and environmental standards.
You will also play a key role in driving the organisation’s Environmental Sustainability Action Plan forward and maintaining our ISO accreditations, supporting our commitment to continuous improvement and responsible business practices.
What you will be doing:
- Be the first point of contact for environmental queries at Motability Foundation.
- Stay up to date with relevant changes to health, safety and environmental legislation and initiatives, briefing the Estates and Facilities Team as necessary.
- Provide advice and guidance to the organisation on Environmental Sustainability matters.
- Take a leading role in ensuring that Motability Foundation are compliant with their ESOS (energy savings opportunity scheme) submission.
- Implement the actions from the ESOS submission.
- Produce the annual SERC report for the Motability Foundation, in line with ARA deadlines.
- Implement and manage the IMS (Integrated Management System) for the Motability Foundation. Gaining and maintaining ISO14001, ISO50001, ISO14064 and ISO45001 accreditations.
- Manage the delivery of actions from the Environmental Sustainability Action Plan. Assist the Estates and Facilities Manager with the development of future plans.
- Regularly review the aspect and impacts register for the organisation.
- Assess, analyse, and collate health, safety and environmental performance data monthly, reporting to the Estates and Facilities Manager and other key stakeholders.
- Implement recommendations from audits and risk assessments.
- Implement an internal and external Environmental Sustainability Communications Plan.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and remedial actions.
- Research, obtain and or provide environmental training to staff at all levels.
- Support the Motability Foundation in achieving its long-term Carbon Emission plans.
- Engage tenants and suppliers with our environmental agenda, encouraging them to adopt a similar focus.
- Prepare budget requests for Environmental Sustainability, submitting these to the Estates and Facilities Manager.
- Work collaboratively with the Motability Operations Environmental Sustainability Team.
Your experience:
Must haves:
- Educated to degree level in environmental science / management or equivalent, or proven track record of extensive work experience.
- Proven track record of extensive work experience in Health and Safety Management.
- Membership with IEMA and IOSH or similar professional body.
- Experience of implementing ISO’s in health, safety and environmental sustainability.
Nice to haves:
- Related post graduate qualifications.
- Knowledge of the ESOS submission practices.
- Experience of producing SECR reports for ARA.
