We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Supported Housing Worker to join our brand-new Newbold House service in Rochdale. Newbold House is a small, purpose-built supported accommodation service, offering 8 single en-suite rooms with shared kitchen and laundry facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new recovery-focused project from the ground up, supporting individuals who have completed detox or rehabilitation to maintain their sobriety, rebuild confidence, and develop the skills they need to move forward into independent living.
About the role
Newbold House is a newly developed supported accommodation service in Rochdale, providing a recovery-focused environment for adults who are abstinent from alcohol and/or substances following detox or rehabilitation.
You’ll work with a small caseload of up to 8 customers, many with complex needs, delivering tailored, person-centred support within a safe and structured setting. Through proactive support, tenancy management, advocacy, and partnership working, you’ll empower individuals to maintain their recovery, build essential life skills, and successfully move on to independent living.
What you’ll be doing
- Delivering high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs
- Supporting customers to set goals, build resilience, and achieve independence
- Working collaboratively with external agencies and partners (e.g. health, housing, recovery services)
- Acting as an advocate for customers, ensuring their voices are heard
- Supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging backgrounds
- Managing conflict and difficult situations calmly, professionally, and safely

We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Experience in working in any of the following fields: supported housing, housing advice work, youth and community work or work supporting homeless people
- The ability to act as an advocate and liaise with the relevant agencies
- The ability to support, co-operate and ‘teamwork’ with others to achieve common objectives
- Experience in dealing with vulnerable people from problematic backgrounds
- The ability to work with clients who have complex needs and who maybe challenging to work with, and to respond to conflict situations in a calm yet firm manner
- The ability to overcome obstacles and deliver results through tenacity, persistence, and resilience
Why join us?
