Theatre Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner

We are looking for Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our orthopaedic theatre scrub team within the elective theatre department at Wansbeck General Hospital. This post will also support our emergency stream at the Northumbria Hospital on a weekend and out of hours rota.

Previous theatre experience would be an advantage, however a comprehensive training package is in place for newly qualified staff, or those new to the theatre environment.

The successful candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic and committed to delivering safe, high quality care.

Delivering excellent standards of care and providing patient support throughout the peri-operative phase, advocating on behalf of the dependent patient. Undertaking the scrubbed and circulating role, ensuring safe environment and practice is maintained. Working with, and supporting other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Preparation and monitoring of the environment of care, and equipment. Supervising junior colleagues, unregistered staff and students.
