Location: Segensworth, Fareham (17 minute walk to Swanwick Railway Station. 3 minute drive from Junction 9, M27. Free on-site parking)
Hours: Monday – Friday, Full Time
Salary: £24,784 to £30,000
Start Date: As soon as possible
About Walcon Marine
Walcon Marine designs, manufactures and builds yacht marinas and pontoon systems and has done for more than 60 years. From our headquarters in Fareham, we work on projects throughout the UK and internationally, delivering practical engineering solutions for marina operators, waterfront developments and yacht harbours.
We are looking for an organised, proactive and reliable Office Administrator to support the smooth running of our office while helping us share the story of our business online.
This is primarily an administration role, with an opportunity to develop skills in business communications including social media.
The Role
You will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the business, ensuring that administrative tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
Alongside this, you will assist with maintaining Walcon Marine’s social media and digital presence, helping to communicate our projects, expertise and company activities to a wider audience.
You will work closely with colleagues across the business and will receive support from our external marketing and communications team.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibility: Office Adminstration
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming calls, emails and visitors
- Schedule meetings, manage diaries and prepare meeting materials
- Maintain filing systems and company records
- Assist with preparing documents, reports and correspondence
- Support colleagues with day-to-day office administration
- Organise travel and hotel bookings
- Assist with the organisation of company events, exhibitions and staff activities
- Help ensure the smooth running of the office environment
Plus Social Media & Communications Support:
- Assist with drafting and scheduling social media posts
- Monitor social media activity and flag comments or enquiries as appropriate
- Help gather project updates, company news and staff stories for use in marketing communications
- Capture and collate photographs and content from company events, projects and activities where appropriate
- Maintain a library of marketing and project imagery
- Work with Walcon’s external marketing team to support the delivery of the company content plan
About You
We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, professional and eager to learn new skills. You may already have administration experience, or you may have developed strong organisational skills through office support, customer service or a similar role.
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- A positive, proactive approach to work
- An interest in social media, marketing or digital communications
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills
