Complex Trauma Worker CBT
North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust
Temporary CBT Therapist – Sexual Abuse and Assault Pathway (6‑month contract - part time 22.5 hours per week)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and well‑organised CBT Therapist to join our Sexual Abuse and Assault Pathway in North Staffordshire. This post will work exclusively within the Sexual Assault services pathway delivered in partnership by North Staffordshire Combined NHS Trust, Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, VCSE partners (Survive and Women’s Aid), and the Staffordshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
This is a temporary six‑month post providing high‑intensity psychological interventions, initially focused on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The postholder will work with individuals presenting to mental health services with difficulties related to complex trauma.
The successful candidate will manage and assess referrals in line with service protocols, undertaking autonomous assessment, formulation, and delivery of evidence‑based psychological interventions. The role requires sensitive and compassionate engagement with clients and, where appropriate, their families, while contributing to a stepped‑care approach through close multidisciplinary and multi‑agency collaboration. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical records and data, meeting agreed activity targets to support timely access to care, and contributing to service evaluation and improvement activities.
