The Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner is a visible and operational post ensuring that the Trust meets it’s requirements to promote the welfare of adults at risk within the Making Safeguarding Personal philosophy.
You will contribute to the development of ‘learning’ and deliver a programme of education and training for staff in line with statutory requirements, policy, procedure and learning from case reviews.
Supporting staff is an important part of the role; this will include providing advice on a range of safeguarding, referral to partner safeguarding services and offering supervision for case discussion and reflection.
You will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills – you will be an analytical practitioner able to organise your own workload in a changing environment and be able to work autonomously within a team.

Support the Head of Safeguarding to monitor and improve standards of care by providing safeguarding advice and support to staff Trust Wide.
Lead the promotion of good professional practice for safeguarding adults providing specialist advice and expertise on a daily basis to Trust staff
Act as the Nominated Enquirer for relevant safeguarding concerns raised by external agencies (Local Authority/CQC).
Contribute to the development and facilitation of Safeguarding training and supervision for identified Trust Staff.

This service will continue to be provided across all sites of UHD.
If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
