IT and Digital Services Team, Digital Business Partner

The Role
The IT and Digital Services team (ITDS), the Digital Business Partner (DBP) will enable Transport for Wales to develop a successful, long-term, operational and strategic relationship between directorates and ITDS.
Role Responsibilities
- Help improve and track overall satisfaction with ITDS services at TfW by overseeing and acting on feedback from stakeholders and end users, and create action plans to ensure portfolio requirements are understood by the ITDS.
- Create and uphold productive partnerships and relationships with all stakeholders by maintaining regular and collaborative communication to support the implementation of technology related projects.
- Support the realisation of the full benefits following the successful implementation and completion of ITDS projects by working closely with and advising stakeholders to ensure effective communication and updates to the portfolio group.
- Align stakeholders needs with the digital strategic direction by identifying emerging risks and opportunities in the current service proposition to improve the productivity of the portfolio group.
- Promote the work of the ITDS through TfW by working with stakeholders on evolving their needs and requirements to ensure the ITDS operating model, strategy and activities are understood.
- Improve the overall level of service by providing assurance, advice and insight on the effectiveness of ITDS to ensure the business partnering team is seen as a trusted source of advice, guidance and key liaison point for our internal customers.
- Monitor and report on the performance of implemented IT services and solutions and coordinate, plan and manage demand and any changes required to systems by communicating with stakeholders and ensuring testing is competed in line with requirements, to confirm business needs are met and are proving value for money.
- Be an active member of the innovation lab by co-ordinating the risk assessments of development across the portfolio, lab and ITDS to ensure benefits are realised in line with the governance framework.
- Mitigate resistance to IT enabled change and digital transformation by helping to develop local business champions, to ensure that colleagues are positively influenced and assisted in the adoption of new technology and ways of working.
- Develop constructive partnerships with TfW's technology suppliers by managing contractual arrangements with agreed service level agreements (SLA's) to ensure value for money is delivered.
Who We're Looking For
- Degree level qualification in IT or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable experience building s productive relationships with senior stakeholders within a large and complex organisation, displaying awareness and sensitivity at all levels, to achieve objectives and deliver outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrable experience of employing presentational, written techniques and tools to inform and educate others and the capacity to manage all interactions in a professional manner using sensitivity, diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to take a complex technical need or solution and explain it to a non-technical audience so that the impact on the business is easily understood along with the ability to work with and resolve uncertainty and ambiguity
- Extensive knowledge and experience of enterprise ICT. The ability to respond to a range of IT issues and use initiative to research answers to more complex queries, working with third party providers as required.
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
