Tasks

  • STRABAG UK's Building Sub-Division isa enjoying significant success following some terrific project wins and more on the near horizon. We therefor wish to appoint a Finance Business Partner, whose key tasks will be as follows:
  • Month-End Close – In-charge of month-end closing using the ERP system, reconciling accounts, reviewing transactions, adjusting entries, analysing variances, ensuring compliance, and preparing reports
  • Cost Tracking & Reporting – Ensure that all costs are properly tracked, recorded, and processed to provide accurate information for cost reporting, project results report and the quarterly forecasting reports
  • BU Forecasting – Assist in forecast reports, done on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, using a combination of bespoke reports and an ERP system
  • Short & Medium-Term Planning – Assist in preparing the short- & medium-term planning as part of internal reporting requirements
  • Cost Tracking – Assist in planned vs. actual cost tracking of the various departments in the Head Office
  • Internal Commercial Controls & Compliance Checking – implement and maintain robust internal controls and compliance checking to company standards in line with the company’s internal directives, procedures, and guidelines
  • Provide support and guidance to non-financial project stakeholders in relation to over-all business/department
  • Internal Financial Controls – implement and maintain robust internal controls to control expenditures, and ensure accuracy of financial data in line with the company’s internal directives, procedures, and guidelines
  • Business partnering with non-financial project stakeholders, bearing in mind the importance of related processes and educating non-financial staff on financial processes and policies that needs to be followed as part of the group’s internal compliance requirements
  • Preparation of standard internal financial reports, or any ad-hoc reporting requirements
  • Work with Project / Business Unit / Subdivision Commercial Controllers to ensure robust financial reporting
  • Preparation of bespoke financial reports as requested by the Head of Commercial Controlling
  • Provides commercial controlling support as required for functional redundancy in support of the over-all commercial success of the business
  • Participate in internal and external financial audits and ensure proper close-out of observations, non-compliance, etc.
  • Liaise and closely coordinate with the corporate (BRVZ) External Finance and Internal Accounting Teams
  • Closely coordinate with other teams like office management and central services team members and ensure that internal controls, policies and guidelines are followed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or a similar field/or equivalent of 5 years relevant finance or accounting experience in any industry
  • CSCS Card (relevant type)
  • 3 years team leader experience in a project-based finance / accounting team within the construction, infrastructure, or similar industry
  • MS Office Suite: Intermediate
  • MS Excel: Intermediate to Advanced
  • Financial / Accounting Software: Intermediate
  • Strong IT, Communication and Presentation Skills
  • Team-player and able to manage a team
  • Self-motivated and able to work alone in a project mobilisation stage
