Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 nursing support worker to join our team on Cadog ward and the frailty Assessment Unit (FAU) at Glangwilli General Hospital, Carmarthen.

The post offers the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in caring for frail patients. Dementia and frailty are a growing challenge within healthcare, and we, as healthcare professionals are at the forefront of providing the dignity, support, and care that people deserve. The aim of the role would be to improve the patient experience. You will need to demonstrate that you have good communication skills, and that you are an excellent team player, as well as being able to work alone. You will be expected to work alongside both the nursing and wider multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

There is an opportunity to learn new skills and gain further experience in caring for patients with frailty whilst developing professionally within a positive and challenging environment. This role will require you to undertake delegated clinical observations, to communicate effectively, and provide the fundamentals of care.

The unit operates a variety of shift patterns to suit service requirements including days/night rotation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
