The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) is a new, multi‑year government programme running from April 2026 to March 2029, designed to support people facing financial shocks and to help build long‑term financial resilience within communities. It replaces previous short‑term crisis schemes by offering a more stable and preventative approach.
Support includes cash‑first crisis payments, help with housing costs, access to essential items, and services that improve financial capability, income maximisation and overall financial stability. Local authorities play a key role in assessing need, providing timely crisis interventions, and ensuring residents receive person‑centred, trauma‑informed support that responds to their individual circumstances.
We are looking to appoint up to 5 Business Services Assistants to administer the above scheme.
The role will involve the following:
- Checking applications to ensure all required documentation has been received and contacting applicants where further information is needed
- Supporting individuals with additional needs (e.g. language barriers or learning disabilities) to complete applications
- Carrying out a holistic triage of applications, identifying appropriate resilience support and completing warm referrals
- Using IT systems, including case management systems and spreadsheets, to accurately record information and produce statistical data
- Responding to customer enquiries about eligibility, application processes, and scheme details in a timely and professional manner
- Providing high-quality administrative support to the Crisis Payment Scheme to deliver excellent customer service to tenants and residents.
