An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supervisor / General Foreman to join our team in the Western region, supporting the delivery of a portfolio of highway adaptation and bridge refurbishment projects.

Business Unit
You’ll be joining a busy and fast-paced civil engineering team delivering a wide range of infrastructure works across the Western region. Projects include highway adaptations, bridge refurbishment schemes and associated infrastructure works, often delivered within live environments and in collaboration with key stakeholders including local authorities and utility providers.
The Role
Working alongside the Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing the safe and efficient delivery of works across a package of projects in the Portishead, Pill and Bristol areas.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and managing groundworks and highway works on site
- Coordinating activities within traffic management environments
- Managing and overseeing utility diversion works in conjunction with service providers
- Ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme and in line with design specifications
- Leading and motivating site teams, including direct labour and subcontractors
- Implementing and maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance
- Monitoring progress against programme and reporting updates to the Site Agent
- Managing trade packages and ensuring effective coordination between disciplines
- Maintaining accurate site records including diaries, labour and plant returns
- Driving a “right first time” and continuous improvement culture across site operations
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Supervisor or General Foreman within a civil engineering environment
- Strong background in groundworks and highway projects
- Experience working with utility companies and diversionary works
- Experience operating within traffic management environments
- A strong understanding of delivering works safely within live site conditions
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification
- CSCS card
- Ability to lead teams and manage multiple work fronts effectively
