IT Facilitation Manager (Service Manager)

NHS National Services Scotland

GP IT Facilitation Manager

This post is a 21 Month Fixed Term / Secondment position. As per the Fixed Term Contacts Policy - Where individuals with continuous service within the NHS apply for fixed-term contract roles, PSD Scotland reserves the right to refuse any such appointment.

On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.

As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

About The Organisation

PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.

We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

The Post

PSD Scotland, on behalf of the Health Boards and Primary Care General Practice, has procured next-generation GP IT systems, to be delivered as a centrally hosted managed service, which will be rolled out to all GP Practices across Scotland. In order to achieve this successfully, the GP IT Re-Provisioning team is seeking to recruit a GP IT Facilitation Manager to support delivering NHS Scotland’s functional requirements, and to work collaboratively with Health Boards, clinicians, GP IT facilitators and eHealth teams through Scotland to ensure successful preparation and deployment of the new GP IT Services, with minimal disruption to health care in GP Practices.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have expertise in the operation of general practice, together with strong project management skills and a detailed understanding of existing GP IT systems. You will have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and be able to work with health professionals in PSD Scotland, NHS boards and GP Practices.

You will have the ability to manage conflicting demands and differing priorities and negotiate with customers and suppliers to agree timescales and deadlines. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Location and Working Pattern

This post will be based in Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow. Other PSD Scotland locations in Scotland can be considered.

Currently hybrid working.

The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
