Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £22,354 - £26,683 BA Cover (SCP 6 – 17) per annum actual salary

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 37 hours a week, 39 weeks a year (Term-Time)

About You

As a Cover Supervisor at The Bulwell Academy, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the life of every student, doing so with integrity, humility, and a consistently positive approach. You will confidently lead whole-class learning in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and a purposeful classroom environment. Your presence will support students to remain engaged, focused, and motivated. Our ideal candidate will:

  • Foster a positive and productive learning environment where all students feel supported.
  • Be a confident and reflective practitioner with strong behaviour management skills.
  • Set high expectations and act as a positive role model, consistently demonstrating the attitudes,

values, and behaviours we expect of our students.

  • Build effective relationships with students and staff to support learning across a range of subjects.

Requirements

To apply for the Cover Supervisor opportunity, you will:

  • Hold a minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (A–C / 4+).
  • Have experience of working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be willing to engage in relevant training and Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
