About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and caring Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated team at Kingsway Children’s Centre. In this rewarding role, you will support the day-to-day operation of the setting, ensuring a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
You will play a vital role in supporting children’s development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), building strong relationships with children and families, and contributing to high-quality childcare provision. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual committed to delivering outstanding early years education and care
Actual Salary: £12,636.28 per annum
Working Pattern: 18.5 hours per week / Monday, Tuesday 7.5 hours and Wednesday 3.5 hours with various shifts scheduled between 7:45am and 5:15pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for children at all times
- Support children’s learning and development through engaging and stimulating activities aligned with EYFS
- Act as a key person, planning and delivering age-appropriate activities and monitoring children’s progress
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and external professionals to support individual needs
- Carry out observations and maintain accurate developmental records in line with EYFS requirements
- Promote positive behaviour and support children’s emotional wellbeing
- Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure compliance with policies and Ofsted standards
- Assist with daily routines including meals, hygiene and general care of children
- Ensure play areas and equipment are safe, clean and fit for purpose
Essential Criteria
- Level 2 qualification in Childcare (or working towards)
- Recent experience in a nursery or similar early years setting
- Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Awareness of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Lets Teach Programme
Let’s Teach The LET’s teach programme supports new members of teaching staff in terms of college systems and key teaching and learning areas including new staff lesson visits and postcard peeps. Each new member of staff has an allocated Lead Practitioner who works closely with them throughout the programme.
Let’s Bloom
The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
