We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and highly effective teacher to the position of Second in Department for Physical Education.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious colleague looking to develop their leadership skills and support the continued success of a thriving PE department. Working closely with the Head of Department, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving high standards of teaching and learning, supporting curriculum development, and promoting participation and achievement across all key stages.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for Physical Education.
• Have the ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students of all abilities.
• Demonstrate a commitment to raising standards and improving outcomes.
• Support the leadership and management of the department.
• Contribute to the wider sporting and enrichment programme of the school.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Current employment at Bitterne Park School.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
• Proven track record of effective teaching in Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Demonstrated leadership skills or experience (e.g., mentoring, coaching, curriculum development).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and support colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting student wellbeing.
• Reflective and proactive approach to professional development and school improvement initiatives.
