Job Overview

We currently have an opportunity within our Facilities team in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (Central) for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to take delegated responsibility for the following services in the Central Area:

  • Portering Services
  • Residential Accommodation
  • Materials Management /Stores
  • Post Room
  • Transport (on site)
  • Domestic Services & Linen Distribution (when required)

The overall purpose of the role is to manage the provision of a range of Facilities Services within the acute and community hospital sites in the Central geographical area of the Health Board.

Main duties of the job

The Manager has responsibility for providing operational support for these services for the Head of Facilities (Central) and other members of the Senior Management Team.

The Manager will lead in identifying and implementing change in conjunction with the Head of Facilities (Central), which contributes, to direction and strategy. They will be expected to develop policies following allocation of specific responsibilities, use resources effectively, and contribute to the wider activities and plans of Facilities and BCUHB.

The post will be based at Glan Clwyd Hospital but the Facilities Manager will need to be able to travel to Community Hospitals and Clinics.

This is a full time permanent position.

Qualifications And Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Relevant degree & Evidence of Continuous Professional development at post grad level
  • Relevant Management qualification, e.g. ILM Management level 5 or above and/or equivalent experience
  • Formal Structured Courses, e.g. Post Grad Diploma, Prince2, NEBOSH
  • Significant level of knowledge, training and relevant experience at a management level

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrate achievement of service improvement (give examples)
  • Demonstrable practical employee relations experience including liaison with staff representatives and partnership working
  • Demonstrable experience in operational middle management in healthcare institution or related area
  • Experience of budgetary management and Demonstrable achievement of financial controls
  • Experience of production of business cases (give examples)
