SEN Teaching Assistant - Andover

We're working with a number of specialist schools across Andover that are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to support students on both flexible and long-term placements.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people overcome barriers to learning while developing valuable skills and experience within education.

No Previous SEN Experience Required

You don't need to have worked as an SEN Teaching Assistant before.

Schools are looking for individuals who can build positive relationships, remain patient during challenging situations, and provide consistent support to students who need it most.

Whether your background is in coaching, care, youth work, support work, or you've recently graduated, many of your existing skills can transfer successfully into an SEN Teaching Assistant role.

We'll provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to help you get started with confidence.

What The Role Involves

  • Supporting students with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Working one-to-one and with small groups of pupils
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Helping students engage with learning and classroom activities
  • Building trust and positive relationships with young people
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
