Analysis Engineer – Fluid & Thermal Simulation

Red Bull Powertrains have an exciting opportunity to join our technical office as we look to build on the milestones reached during the first season running our own, in-house designed and developed Power Units, and develop them into the most competitive car on the 2026 Formula One grid and beyond. We are looking for an Analysis Engineer for the Mechanical Simulation Team to deliver World Championship winning cars year on year in our open, dynamic, and inclusive environment that ensures that everyone can make a valuable contribution.

If successful we will help you apply and develop your existing skills in computational fluid dynamics codes for assessing cooling and thermal performance of powertrain components, fluid system design and analysis, heat transfer simulations, and defining acceptance criteria. Red Bull Powertrains are committed to supporting the development of all successful applicants and your aptitude and willingness to learn is just as important than specific skills or experience.

Based on our Milton Keynes campus, you will be responsible for running a wide range of fluid and thermal analyses, while working closely with other teams across Red Bull Powertrains to deliver maximum performance and flawless reliability. To be successful you must have knowledge of fluid or thermal analyses and be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Attributes of the Successful Candidate

  • Passion for innovation, can-do attitude, and willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, reacting to changing priorities and scope while meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships across the Red Bull Group

Required Knowledge and Experience for this Role

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with 3+ years of experience in CFD
  • Strong technical expertise in fluid mechanics and heat transfer principles
  • Advanced proficiency in CFD tools such as STAR-CCM+ or similar

Desirable Knowledge

  • Proven ability to apply structured, high-quality fluid and thermal analysis within a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Solid understanding of system design principles
  • Experience in 1D system simulation is highly desirable, preferably using GT-suite
  • Experience in scripting or automation for engineering applications (e.g. Python, Java, MATLAB)
  • Familiarity with data preparation techniques, as well as design exploration and optimisation methods
  • Experience in F1 hybrid power unit simulation is advantageous but high-performance racing engine experience or involvement in high-performance R&D projects is recommended

We Love What We Do

For Red Bull, each Grand Prix weekend is the culmination of the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team based at our Technology Campus in Milton Keynes. Working closely together from departments as varied as design, performance development, manufacturing, marketing, assembly, hospitality, aerodynamics, validation and testing, Formula One is a true team sport where everyone can make a difference.

At Red Bull Powertrains, we don’t just compete—we push boundaries, fight for every win, and never settle for second best. Our team is built on trust, collaboration, and an unrelenting drive to succeed. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll benefit from

  • Bonus scheme
  • Private healthcare
