Linking Navy to Nation with inspiring stories and experiences. Here you can come aboard the most famous ships, planes, and submarines of the Royal Navy and experience them through the stories of the people who served on them. Aswell as being truly captivated by the thousands of unique, emotional, and sometimes quirky stories that have shaped the Royal Navy into what it proudly stands for today.

You are pivotal in us achieving our vision, and to support this we embrace diversity and want everyone to feel valued and have a sense of belonging.

We’re looking for confident, customer focused people who enjoy working in a front of house environment and feel comfortable combining great conversations with clear sales outcomes. You’ll be part of a friendly, high performing team, welcoming and engaging visitors in a unique and inspiring heritage setting.

Alongside providing warm, confident and engaging customer service, you’ll have a clear sales focus with weekly conversion targets, whether you’re promoting Gift Aid and guidebook sales at our ticketing desk, making great coffees in one of our catering outlets, or helping visitors find the perfect souvenir in our gift shops. These targets are an important part of the role and are approached in a supportive, positive way, helping to enhance the visitor journey while maximising income. You’ll also have the opportunity to earn commission on every guidebook sold.

You’ll play a key role in welcoming our visitors onsite, from greeting them at ticketing and supporting in the shop, to working in the café and across the wider galleries - no two days are the same.

Reporting to the Visitor Experience Managers, this varied and rewarding role is vital in generating the income that allows the Museum to fulfil its charitable objectives and continue preserving and sharing the story of the Royal Navy.

  • Basic understanding of Health Safety, Security and Food Hygiene requirements, with a willingness to learn and develop further.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with pride in delivering outstanding service every day.
