Pay Scale: Central Pay Scale 2.21

Transforming Lives Educational Trust (TLET) is seeking an exceptional safeguarding professional to join our growing Trust as Trust Lead for Safeguarding.

This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic leadership for safeguarding across our family of schools, ensuring that every child and young person within our Trust is safe, supported, and able to thrive. We are looking for an experienced and passionate safeguarding leader who is committed to promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and who can drive excellence in safeguarding practice across a Multi-Academy Trust.

About the role

As Trust Lead for Safeguarding, you will

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of safeguarding across the Trust.

  • Develop, implement and review the Trust-wide safeguarding strategy and policies.

  • Ensure safeguarding practice remains compliant with statutory requirements and reflects best practice.

  • Lead and coordinate safeguarding quality assurance across all Trust schools.

  • Monitor and evaluate safeguarding data and trends to support improvement.

  • Support and challenge school leaders and DSLs to ensure consistently high standards of safeguarding.

  • Lead Trust safeguarding networks and facilitate collaborative working across schools.

  • Provide expert guidance and support on complex safeguarding cases.

  • Report safeguarding matters to senior leaders and Trustees as required.

  • Champion a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience of safeguarding leadership within education or a related sector.

  • Thorough knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and best practice.

  • Experience of developing and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.

  • The ability to analyse safeguarding information and use data to drive improvement.

  • Experience of supporting and challenging colleagues to improve practice.

  • A commitment to collaborative working and continuous improvement.

  • Passion for ensuring the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.

Experience of working across multiple schools or within a Multi-Academy Trust would be advantageous.
