Dovehaven House is a residential care home catering for up to 40 residents. The home specializes in dementia care, and our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

About the role
As the Senior Care Assistant, you will be tasked with managing the care team within the Home and ensuring that care staff are adhering to CQC guidelines whilst providing exceptional levels of care to residents. You will promote and deliver high standards of care and supervise and support less experienced staff to enable them to fully contribute to the care provided within the Home.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to caring for older people.
- Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
- Able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the Home.
- Provide assistance, personal care, activities and companionship to residents
- Be alert to residents’ needs, health and wellbeing
- Respect the residents’ dignity and privacy
- Work with residents and their families to deliver tailored care to each individual
- Assist with mealtimes and safe moving
- Maintain accurate records for each resident
Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Committed to providing a high standard of care, promoting dignity and respect.
- Previous experience working within an elderly care setting.
- Team player but able to work on your own initiative.
- Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home.
- Previous supervisory experience within a care/nursing home setting and experience of working with the elderly.
- A minimum of a NVQ level 2 in health & social care along with a dedicated passion for providing exceptional care.
