React Native Mobile App Developer (Contract)

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: Initial 6–10 Week Contract

Overview

We are looking for a practical Expo developer to help us build and launch several mobile applications over the next few months.

This is a delivery-focused role. We already know what we want to build, the backend services already exist, and the user journeys are largely defined.

We need somebody who can come in, work quickly, and turn ideas into working applications.

This role would suit someone who enjoys building products rather than attending meetings, writing documentation or working through long development cycles.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be responsible for:

• Building two core Expo applications.
• Building several smaller mobile applications for customer engagement and marketing purposes.
• Updating and rebranding an existing application.
• Connecting applications to existing APIs and services.

o Camera, GPS / Location Services, Accelerometer, ,Media Upload, Push Notifications

• Testing and deploying applications to iOS and Android.

The majority of the backend services already exist. This role is primarily focused on the mobile application layer.

Technology Stack

Required:

• React Native, TypeScript, REST APIs. Git

Useful:

• , AWS Cognito, App Store deployment, Google Play deployment

AI-Assisted Development

We make extensive use of AI-assisted development tools. Experience with tools such these is highly desirable.

• Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Replit

We are interested in developers who know how to use modern tools effectively to deliver software quickly.

What We Are Looking For

We are not looking for a traditional senior mobile developer. We are looking for someone who can:

• Build working software quickly.
• Work independently.
• Learn new technologies rapidly.
• Solve problems without constant supervision.
• Deliver results.

The ideal candidate will have built and shipped real applications, either professionally or as personal projects.

Working Style

This role is fully remote. You will work directly with our team through Microsoft Teams and other collaboration tools. We work at a fast pace. Projects are typically measured in days and weeks rather than months.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly and where delivery is valued over process.

Pay: £40,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
