Horizon Housing Association is part of Link Group Limited. We are committed to supporting the development of diverse communities which include disabled people. We work to provide homes and housing related services which offer the opportunity for people to be independent and have choice and control in their lives. Horizon provide a high quality, customer focused repairs and maintenance service to Horizon’s tenants and customers across central Scotland.
Our values are:
- We are all different, equal and valuable
- Access to housing and services in the community of your choice should not be determined by impairment
- Disabled people have a right to participate fully in society – to be in the mainstream
- Disabled people should have the right to housing, services and facilities to enable independent living
The Role
At Horizon, tenants are at the heart of everything we do. Our people are central to our success, and as we continue to develop and improve our services, we are committed to supporting them to be the best they can be and reach their full potential.
As Senior Housing Officer, you will play a key role in leading the delivery of high-quality housing services, ensuring strong operational performance and positive outcomes for our tenants and communities.
You will provide day-to-day leadership of the Housing and Tenancy Sustainment Teams, supporting staff to deliver effective, customer-focused services across areas including tenancy management, income recovery, estate management and tenancy sustainment.
You will take a lead role in managing complex cases, supporting vulnerable tenants and driving early intervention approaches that help sustain tenancies and reduce risk. Working closely with the Housing and Communities Manager, you will contribute to service improvement, ensuring services are efficient, evidence-led and aligned with Horizon’s strategic priorities.
About You
You will have a minimum of a CIH Level 3 qualification, or an equivalent HNC-level qualification (or be willing to work towards this), alongside a strong understanding of housing management and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
You will bring practical experience of managing a wide range of housing management issues, including arrears control, voids, anti-social behaviour and tenant participation. You will also have a sound knowledge of housing legislation, Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and choice-based lettings.
We are looking for someone with experience in a housing association, local authority or similar environment, who is confident managing complex and sensitive situations. You will have experience of handling complaints in line with regulatory requirements and delivering fair, transparent and customer-focused services.
Strong partnership working skills are essential, with experience of collaborating with statutory agencies, voluntary organisations and professional partners to achieve positive outcomes.
You will be an effective communicator with the ability to lead and support a team, build strong relationships and manage a varied workload. A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is essential, along with a genuine desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.
The role requires travel across our operating areas. You must have access to personal transport, including a full UK driving licence, or alternative arrangements that enable you to meet the travel requirements of the post.
In return you will be offered the opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge through employee training and development. You can expect to work in a supportive, trusting and transparent working environment, with the autonomy to offer creative and innovative solutions whilst maintaining Link’ s values; Responsibility, Empathy, Social Impact, Participate, Equality, Challenge and Transparency.
