The CharacterShop

We’re setting up for a mixed media children’s series, produced by 3Megos, focusing on the environment, climate change and sustainability. We are looking for two mid to senior level editors to join our in-studio team, located in Worcester.

As an editor you will work on one of our two teams, across animatic stage through to online assembly to deliver broadcast standard episodes. You will be responsible for bringing together elements from all stages of production, to produce engaging, concise, and technically accurate content. The production pipeline consists of quick turnarounds at all stages, therefore excellent communication and attention to detail is essential. Work Model

  • Roles will be in-house at our Worcester office. Please do not apply for this role if you are looking for remote or hybrid working.
  • Editor 1: Fixed-term contract, starting mid July 2026 (8 months)
  • Editor 2: Fixed-term contract, starting end August 2026 (6 months)
  • Monday – Friday, 9AM-6PM

Responsibilities

  • First and foremost, it will be important to understand the show’s brand and its content, to ensure we are delivering a consistent format throughout the series.
  • Editor 1 will be onboarded first and will be required to set up an efficient workflow for animatic and online assemblies; create templates for edit stages and arrange an appropriate filing pipeline.
  • Assemble animatics using voice over, music demos, stock footage and 2D layouts. Working closely with the director, storyboard and layout artists to complete.
  • Produce online assemblies using animated renders, transitions and audio post materials. Assemblies are to be updated on the go, as assets are delivered.
  • Uploading exports to commenting software for review and actioning any internal and external feedback. As well as work closely with the director for edit sessions, actioning on the spot comments.
  • Complete exports following technical delivery requirements for broadcasters.
  • Upon final episode deliveries, the appropriate archiving and write up of inventory is to be complete.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro is vital, and knowledge of Adobe After Effects is also preferred.
  • Basic grading knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience on at least one animated or mixed media episodic series, broadcast series is an advantage.
  • Fast, consistent turnaround at production pace.
  • Capable of managing own workload with an efficient workflow and ensuring tasks are complete to production timelines.
  • Good communication and tracking skills.
  • Able to take onboard feedback and action accordingly.
