Senior Consultant - Strategy & amp ; Impact
Lane Clark & Peacock
Senior Consultant - Strategy & Impact
Location - London with a MINIMUM of 2 days per week (40%) in the office with Tuesday as the team day
In 2020 LCP launched our Heath practice, providing analytical and research services for organisations across the life sciences and healthcare industries. Our team brings together, health economists, statisticians, market access specialists, epidemiologists, clinicians, and health data scientists alongside our established actuarial, analytics and technology teams to deliver new solutions for the fundamental challenges in health. Our mission is to help shift health systems from importers of illness to exporters of health, and to support our clients in delivering genuine value to patients
We have built a track record for leading approaches to real world evidence generation, health economic modelling, and innovative reimbursement design. We have been growing the team quickly in response to the demand we are seeing for the service offerings we have developed and now have a team of over 50 people working across four service areas of evidence generation, HEOR, market access, and integrated omics.
An important part of the team's work is to shape health policy in the areas most aligned to LCP Health's core expertise: embedding health equity into routine assessment of health interventions; realigning incentives to enable a health-driven economy; and addressing the growing burden of chronic disease — particularly cardiometabolic conditions and multimorbidity — on healthcare demand and system sustainability.
As the department continues to grow, this role will accelerate our external impact, deepen our policy influence and help translate our strategic ambitions into operational reality. This is a significant role, working directly with the Head of Department, with a substantial opportunity to contribute to driving and shaping LCP Health's next chapter.
Our work
Our core client work spans real world evidence generation and pharmacoepidemiology, health economic modelling, burden of disease forecasting, and global market access strategy. A growing and distinctive part of our offer focuses on articulating the broader value of medicines, including their contribution to economic growth, and embedding health equality as a routine consideration across the medicine development cycle.
Alongside our commercial client work, we partner with policy and third sector organisations on issues closely aligned with our areas of expertise — from developing health equity frameworks and building consensus across international stakeholders, to quantifying the systemic economic impact of chronic disease and healthcare underinvestment. It is this intersection of rigorous analysis and real-world policy influence that makes LCP Health's offer distinctive.
Key responsibilities
Advancing LCP Health's policy influence and thought leadership
LCP Health has built a strong track record of impactful policy work — from economic inactivity and health inequalities to NHS waiting lists — with reach across national media including the Today Programme and BBC. This role is central to sustaining and significantly accelerating that influence.
- Lead the identification and development of strategic partnership opportunities across government, the third sector and key policy stakeholders, with a focus on LCP Health's core impact areas: health equity, multimorbidity, obesity and the broader value agenda in healthcare
- Take ownership of partnership delivery once established, ensuring commitments are met, relationships are actively maintained and impact is tracked across LCP Health's commercial, societal and people objectives
- Directly contribute to LCP Health's thought leadership output and support the Head of Department in doing so — staying ahead of the policy landscape, identifying where LCP's expertise can shape debate and translating this into timely, high-quality content
- Expand LCP Health's external profile and network by securing and representing the department at high-value forums, including roundtables, parliamentary engagement, industry events and speaking opportunities
- Act as an intelligence function for the Head of Department — ensuring they are well-connected, well-briefed and well-represented across the policy and industry landscape
Senior delivery on strategic client projects
- Serve as senior day-to-day lead on complex, strategic client engagements aligned with LCP Health's impact areas, ensuring high-quality delivery and clear accountability throughout
- Lead and coordinate the delivery team across these projects, providing direction, quality oversight and development support to team members
- Bring a sophisticated understanding of the health policy landscape to bear across a range of projects, acting as a senior voice that grounds analytical work in real-world context and stakeholder relevance
- Manage senior stakeholder relationships with confidence, navigating complexity and ensuring client objectives are met with appropriate rigour and care
Health department strategy and operations
- Work closely with the Head of Department to translate strategic priorities into action, coordinating cross-team working on initiatives including multi-geography expansion, service development and potential inorganic growth opportunities
- Act as a trusted point of escalation for operational issues across the department — identifying friction points as they emerge, resolving them efficiently and helping to embed stronger processes as the department scales
- Support effective tracking and reporting of departmental objectives, ensuring performance is visible internally and communicable to broader stakeholders within the firm
- Play an active leadership role in the Health Management Group, contributing to collective decision-making, keeping the department informed of significant policy developments, and — where appropriate — taking on line management and mentorship responsibilities
What skills, experience and qualities are we looking for?
- Significant, demonstrable experience in the health sector across either civil service, think tank or broader policy roles
- Experience working across or at the interface of government, the third sector and/or the life sciences and healthcare industry in fast paced environment with exposure to senior to senior stakeholder management and complex project delivery
- Deep knowledge of the UK health policy landscape, including an understanding of NHS structures, government health priorities and the role of the third sector in shaping policy
- Experience in global health policy desirable but a willingness to develop in ex-UK health policy is essential
- Excellent grasp of LCP Health's core impact areas — health equity, chronic disease and multimorbidity, and the broader value of healthcare interventions — and the ability to translate this into credible external positioning
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt style and register across audiences, from technical teams to senior policy figures and media
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, able to spot opportunities, develop ideas and taken them forward with limited direction
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments
- Experience presenting and convening stakeholders at senior forums, roundtables or public-facing events, comfortable acting as a creditable external representative of an organisation
- A commitment to delivering client work to meet deadlines, which may mean working extra hours from time to time
- Genuine enthusiasm for the intersection of analytical rigour and real-world impact, and for being part of a growing, ambitious team
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce polished, professional outputs independently
