Job Purpose

We are looking for a pro-active paralegal to provide high‑quality and professional legal support to the Head of Legal and wider business, with a focus on commercial contracts, project documentation, regulatory compliance and risk management within a technical engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Review and negotiate commercial agreements including consultancy agreements, NDAs, collateral warranties and framework agreements.
  • Draft and review other legal documents including legal letters and deeds of variation.
  • Maintain the contract databases and internal knowledge libraries.
  • Support project teams with contract queries and provide considered guidance.
  • Assist with managing insurance-related documentation.
  • Conduct legal research including commercial, construction and regulatory matters.
  • Assist in drafting internal compliance guidance and policies and monitor updates to applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with early-stage dispute management liaising with insurers and external counsel.
  • Provide ad-hoc legal advice and guidance, as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A legal qualification such as LLB, LPC, SQE1 or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a paralegal, preferably within a construction, engineering, infrastructure or a commercial/technical environment, although this is not essential.
  • Legal experience in contract drafting and contract negotiation.
  • Experience in a client-facing role, ability to communicate professionally with clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
