AI / Emerging Tech Security Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

What if your security expertise could directly influence how the world's most advanced AI systems defend themselves against attacks, misuse, and adversarial manipulation? We're looking for AI Security Analysts to probe, stress-test, and evaluate frontier AI models — uncovering vulnerabilities before they become real-world problems.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for security professionals who are curious about AI and want to work at the cutting edge of where cybersecurity meets machine learning. If you've ever wondered how LLMs can be manipulated, exploited, or pushed beyond their boundaries — this is the role where you get paid to find out.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze real-world AI and LLM security scenarios to understand how models behave under adversarial or unexpected conditions
  • Investigate prompt injection attacks, data leakage risks, model abuse patterns, and system misuse cases
  • Classify security vulnerabilities and evaluate appropriate mitigations based on real-world impact and likelihood
  • Apply threat modeling frameworks to emerging AI technologies and deployment contexts
  • Help evaluate and improve AI system behavior so it remains safe, reliable, and aligned with security best practices
  • Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Background in cybersecurity, information security, or a closely related field
  • Strong understanding of modern threat modeling and how it applies to AI and LLM systems
  • Familiar with adversarial attack surfaces — prompt injection, jailbreaks, model extraction, data poisoning, and similar risks
  • Analytical and precise when evaluating complex systems and potential failure modes
  • Naturally curious — you think like an attacker and approach AI systems with healthy skepticism
  • Clear and structured written communicator who can document findings effectively

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems, APIs, or LLM-based applications
  • Background in penetration testing, red teaming, or vulnerability research
  • Familiarity with AI safety concepts, alignment research, or responsible AI frameworks
  • Experience in software engineering or a technical background that complements security work
  • Knowledge of industry security standards and frameworks (OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, etc.)

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI models alongside leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Be at the forefront of AI security — a field that is shaping the future of technology
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
