Role Overview
This contractual position requires oversight of aquatic facility safety and emergency response in a high-traffic environment. The role is critical to ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining a secure space for guests and staff. Experience in lifeguarding and emergency protocols is essential to protect users and mitigate risk.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct continuous surveillance of assigned aquatic areas to identify and respond to potential hazards or dangerous situations.
• Enforce facility safety rules and educate patrons on proper pool use to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Perform rescues and provide immediate first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as needed in emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and communicate all safety concerns to facility management in a timely manner.
• Inspect equipment, water quality, and emergency devices to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification or equivalent recognized by state regulations.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification with hands-on practical training within the past 2 years.
• Ability to swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both without stopping.
• Strong situational awareness and decision-making skills to assess risks and act under pressure.
• Clear communication skills to provide instructions, coordinate with staff, and report incidents accurately.
