Role Overview
A Senior Care Assistant (Relief/Bank) is required to provide high-quality person-centred care at Alexandra House, Dovercourt on a contractual basis. This role involves delivering compassionate support to residents in a care home environment, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met while adhering to relevant care standards. The position is suited to experienced care professionals seeking flexible, bank-based work in a community-focused healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver personal care to residents, including assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, and continence needs.
• Support residents with eating, drinking, and medication reminders in line with care plans.
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in health or behaviour to senior staff.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote social inclusion and mental wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of care delivered, following data protection protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of recent experience working in a care home or supported living setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to implement them appropriately.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
