Role Overview
We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Cook (Relief/Bank) based at Greenways, Bognor Regis to work on a contractual basis. This role involves preparing and serving meals in a care home setting, ensuring dietary requirements and food safety standards are met at all times. The position supports daily operations during peak meal times and scheduled breaks, maintaining consistency in meal quality and service efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook meals according to set menus, adjusting for dietary and cultural requirements as specified by care home policies.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in the kitchen and dining areas at all times.
• Follow strict portion control and presentation guidelines to ensure meals meet nutritional and aesthetic standards.
• Work collaboratively with care staff to accommodate resident preferences and special dietary needs, including texture-modified diets.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including COSHH and food hygiene practices, and complete required documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Previous experience as a Cook or Kitchen Assistant in a care home, hospital, or similar setting is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, including Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certification.
• Ability to follow written recipes and adapt dishes for specific dietary needs, such as soft, pureed, or diabetic diets.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organisation in a high-traffic kitchen environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure during busy meal periods.
