Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department for a part time Back up Medical Secretary to join the Royal Gwent Hospital team.

We are looking for suitable candidate who has a professional manner, keen, a team player and able to work independently to ensure that the Trust standards are adhered to. You will be required to provide comprehensive medical, secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and nursing teams, primarily typing of clinics but also include covering duties of the medical secretaries as required.

Our ideal candidates will have proven Medial Secretary experience enabling them to fit into a team of longstanding professional Secretaries.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated back up medical secretary to join us within Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Royal Gwent Hospital.

You will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work.

You must be able to work on your initiative use, tact and diplomacy where appropriate and possess excellent communication skills.

Audio typing skills are essential. Knowledge of hospital systems would be beneficial although full training will be given to the successful candidate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
