We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated

Nursing Associate to join our ward team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive, fast‑paced clinical environment where you’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality patient care across the full patient journey—from admission through to discharge. You’ll be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure patients receive safe, effective and personalised care at every stage.

This is a full-time position working,

37.5 hours a week with a combination of shifts;

  • Monday to Sunday - Long Days: 07:00-1930
  • Monday to Sunday - Night shifts 19:00 - 07:30
  • Weekdays, weekends and bank holidays

What you'll be doing

As Our Nursing Associate, You Will Be

  • Delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients pre‑ and post‑operatively and throughout their recovery.
  • Supporting safe and effective patient admissions, care planning and discharge processes.
  • Acting as a patient advocate, ensuring care is delivered with dignity, respect and compassion.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and optimal bed utilisation.
  • Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Participating in clinical audit, governance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Educating patients and families to support recovery and promote health and wellbeing.

What we'll look for in you

As a qualified Nursing Associate (NMC registered) with relevant ward experience, you will also have:

  • Experience working in a ward, day care or short‑stay clinical environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient‑centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
  • A proactive, flexible and positive attitude to work.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and ongoing professional development.
