Summary of the AD/Bioplant Technician role

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on AD/Bioplant Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of our anaerobic digestion (AD) and gas-to-grid plant. In this role, you will monitor and adjust operational conditions to optimise performance, conduct biomethane potential tests (BMP) and manage waste acceptance procedures in line with site and regulatory requirements.

The role is fully site-based at our Cramlington site, operating on a Monday to Friday day shift pattern.

Your responsibilities

  • Issuing permits and ensuring work is completed safely
  • Controlling and working to conditions in standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Conducting workplace inspections, audits and investigations as required
  • Managing data to facilitate statutory reporting
  • Ensuring the AD plant is maximising waste throughout gas and generation
  • Testing waste to ensure optimum plant loading
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs where applicable
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting and decision making for operational issues

Requirements for the role

  • Previous experience within the chemical industry or similar environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable communicating with stakeholders of all levels
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to business requirements
