The role of Merchandiser
- Prepare reporting and present in weekly and monthly trading meetings
- Drive the trade model
- Review daily and weekly sales performance and take actions where required
- Review over and under performance at product level and drive trading actions to maximise potential and minimise risk
- Manage a WSSI by accurately forecasting demand, OTB, returns and margin
- Take ownership of the critical path and take appropriate action on issues when they arise
- Prepare trading reports/packs and make recommendations for reporting improvements across the B&M function
- Build effective and open relationships with all members of the buying and merchandising team
- Ensure productive relationship between merchandising function and all other business areas
- Deliver key information at the right time to the right people
The ideal Merchandiser
- A strong background in the retail industry with a focus on merchandising or inventory management
- Proficiency in analysing sales data and forecasting trends
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with merchandising systems and tools
This role is with an established ladies multi-channel fashion retailer based in the Birmingham area, joining and supporting the merchandising team.
