HGV Class 1 Driver opportunities are available for experienced and newly qualified drivers looking for flexible work across South Devon and the surrounding areas.

Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay & Barnstaple) is recruiting HGV Class 1 C+E Drivers for ongoing ad hoc day work based in Newton Abbot. This role offers flexibility, regular shifts, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position with the right employer.

Location

Newton Abbot, Devon

Easily commutable from Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Paignton, Totnes, South Brent, Kingsbridge and Salcombe.

Salary

£15.34-£24.53 per hour PAYE Advance

Other PAYE models are available.

Weekly pay

Minimum 8 hours guaranteed per shift

Key Responsibilities

Drive a Class 1 C+E vehicle safely and professionally
Deliver and collect caged goods across the South West and South Wales
Complete delivery paperwork and transport documentation accurately
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
Follow all transport legislation, health and safety procedures, and company policies
Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle
Provide excellent customer service when representing our clients
Workday shifts with typical start times from 05:00
Available shifts throughout the week, Monday to Sunday

Qualifications

Essential

Valid UK HGV Class 1 C+E licence
Valid Driver CPC qualification
Digital Tachograph card
No more than 6 penalty points
No DR, DD or IN endorsements
Reliable, professional and punctual approach

Desirable

Experience delivering caged goods
Good geographical knowledge of the South West and South Wales
Flexible approach to available shifts
Newly qualified Class 1 drivers are welcome to apply
