About the role

As a System Design and Implementation Officer, you’ll play an important role in shaping how our systems support services across the organisation. Working within Digital, Technology & Innovation, you’ll translate business needs into effective system solutions, ensuring processes are efficient, user-friendly and aligned to statutory requirements. This is a great opportunity to influence how technology supports our communities, while developing your skills in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment
What will you be doing?
You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Council to design, implement and continuously improve system processes, ensuring they meet both business needs and regulatory requirements. From mapping processes and configuring systems to supporting integrations and reviewing software developments, you’ll help maximise the value of our technology. You’ll lead on user acceptance testing, creating and coordinating test plans to ensure changes are fit for purpose before rollout. Alongside this, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers and technical teams to solve problems, share insight and drive continuous improvement, helping us make better use of our systems every day
About you
You’re a proactive and analytical thinker who enjoys solving problems and improving how systems work. With experience of working with complex systems or business processes, you’re confident engaging with stakeholders, influencing decisions and translating technical detail into practical outcomes. You communicate clearly and build strong working relationships, bringing a collaborative approach to your work. You’ll have a good understanding of data, system design or content management, and a commitment to continuous improvement and learning. Most importantly, you share our ambition to innovate, challenge the status quo and deliver high-quality services that make a difference to our communities.
