Production Duty Manager (Night Shift) – 18 month fixed term

We are delighted to be expanding our Production team and are seeking a talented and motivated Production Duty Manager to join us on the night shift at Taylors of Harrogate.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within our manufacturing operation, overseeing the production of our premium tea and coffee products and contributing to the continued success of a trusted and much-loved brand.
About the Role
As Production Duty Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end production process—from the receipt of raw materials through to processing and packing—ensuring all products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
Leading multi-skilled teams in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, you will be accountable for performance, safety, and quality throughout your shift. You will also take full responsibility for site operations during out-of-hours working, making informed decisions and ensuring smooth, efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop production teams to achieve performance targets
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels, skills, and resources are in place
- Drive a strong culture of Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance
- Analyse production performance data and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support and deliver training and development initiatives for team members
- Ensure effective use of IWS daily management systems
- Manage and communicate escalations clearly and promptly
- Deliver structured and effective shift handovers
Reporting to the Manufacturing Area Manager, you will play an important role in supporting future growth by improving efficiency, output, and ways of working across the operation.
About You
We are looking for a confident and people-focused leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment.
You will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role within food or FMCG manufacturing
- A strong track record of leading and developing teams (up to 20 people)
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong analytical skills
- The ability to make informed decisions both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Resilience and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
You will also take ownership of people management activities, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, absence, holidays, and appraisals.

Working Hours
Monday to Thursday, 9:45pm – 6:00am
