An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Agent / Senior Site Agent to join our Scotland team, delivering a diverse portfolio of non-rail civil engineering projects across multiple sectors including energy, infrastructure and structures.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the simultaneous delivery of multiple projects across a varied client base.
Upcoming and live schemes include:
- Boreland Footbridge Replacement (Network Rail)
- Drumjohn Pipeline Refurbishment (DRAX)
- Hopsrig Substation Works (SPEN)
This role will also support pre-construction and post-construction activities, offering a broad and engaging workload across the project lifecycle.
Business Unit
You will be part of a busy, multi-disciplinary civil engineering team delivering works across power & energy, structures, highways and general civils. The team operates across a strong portfolio of frameworks and standalone projects for clients including SPEN, SSE, DRAX, Network Rail and Local Authorities.
Typical works include:
- Substation civils and access infrastructure
- Bridge and footbridge construction / replacement
- Pipeline refurbishment and utilities infrastructure
- Earthworks, roads and general civils packages
The Role
As Site Agent / Senior Site Agent, you will be accountable for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed to programme, budget and specification.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full responsibility for site operations across multiple live projects
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
- Managing site teams, subcontractors and supervisors
- Coordinating engineering, commercial and construction activities
- Managing programme performance and driving progress on site
- Maintaining communication with the Project Manager and key stakeholders
- Managing changes to scope and ensuring effective cost control
- Producing regular progress and performance reports
- Supporting pre-construction planning and post-delivery close out
About You
You will be an experienced civil engineering professional with a strong track record of delivering infrastructure projects, ideally within power, energy or general civils environments.
Essential
- Experience as a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent within civil engineering
- Strong background in general civils, structures or infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong commercial, engineering and leadership capability
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
Qualifications
- HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- SMSTS
- CSCS
Desirable
- Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
- Appointed Person (Lifting)
- IOSH
- Service Detection training
- SPEN / SSE / DRAX competencies
- Experience working within Tier 1 rail environments (beneficial for wider business flexibility)
