Introduction to the Company
The rebirth of NorthCountry Homes heralds the re-emergence of a business dedicated to getting young working-class people and first-time buyers into home ownership and wealth creation, by providing low-cost homes for sale throughout the North of England.
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our growing teams based either in our Wakefield or Midlands Office.
Introduction to the role
As a key influential member of the commercial team, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for acquiring all material commodities for the region in an efficient and effective manner while ensuring best value is achieved. The buyer will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with all key supply chain partners needed to manage an efficient material purchasing process.
Key Responsibilities: -
· Identification, sourcing, and negotiation with all suppliers.
· Achieving best value for the business. Contribute to the monthly valuation process and provide detailed information on all material movement and variations incurred.
· Internal and external stakeholder engagement to ensure great working relationships are present within the organisation.
· Scheduling and placing material and plant orders, whilst being efficient with cost.
· Creating and maintaining meticulous cost reports and records.
· Devise and develop systems of work that drive efficiencies into the business.
· Resolving issues with suppliers, programming, and the delivery of materials.
· Administration of supplier accounts while adhering to contractual terms.
· To support site teams with programming and delivery of materials and stock taking.
· Carry out regular site audit of stock and housekeeping while liaising with other department heads to ensure best practice is delivered to the operational teams.
· Ensuring that products comply with the requirements for safety, health, and the environment.
· Assist in the development and costings of product innovations.
The ideal candidate: -
· Will ideally have experience within procurement and like to work with a fair degree autonomy and is confident in both negotiation and relationship building.
· Able to assist with establishing the right procurement framework for a growing business.
· Able to take off and schedule house type designs from working drawing then cost up accordingly.
· Have broad commercial knowledge and existing network of ‘tried and tested’ suppliers.
· Will be highly organised and capable of prioritising their own workload while assessing the ever-changing needs of the business.
· Thinks creatively while striving for further personal and business success.
· Will ideally be a proficient user of all Microsoft applications, in particular Excel.
· Confident in making frequent visits to site to support all site teams.
