Job Title: Residential Support Worker
Key Details
- Location: Whittlesey
- Salary: Up to £33,000 per year
- Hours: Minimum 36 hours per week (option to work 42–48 hours)
- Contract Type: Permanent
Shift Pattern
3-week rolling rota with 15-hour shifts:
- Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Saturday
Includes day shifts, night shifts, and sleep-ins.
- Week 2: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday
- Week 3: Wednesday
Job Introduction
We are looking for a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join the team at Lorac Lodge. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people aged 8–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a nurturing residential environment, helping them build confidence, stability, and positive life outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in a residential setting
- Build positive and trusting relationships to support emotional wellbeing
- Support young people in education, social, and recreational activities
- Encourage independence, life skills, and positive behavioural development
- Maintain accurate records relating to care, progress, and development
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
- Support daily routines and provide guidance where needed
- Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain a safe, nurturing environment
- Promote a structured and supportive living environment
- Contribute to high standards of care and positive outcomes

Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or willingness to work towards it(desirable)
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable)
- Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and child development
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work 15-hour shifts including days, nights, and sleep-ins
- Minimum 36 hours per week with additional hours available
- Valid UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Applicants must be at least 22 years of age due to regulatory requirements
