Project Co - ordinator
University of Hull
Salary Range
£33,002.00 - £38,784.00
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, creating a community where colleagues feel respected and valued. We aim to reflect the diversity of our students and communities, and to strengthen our university through collaboration and diverse perspectives, across all roles at the University.
This project co-ordinator (0.8 fte) will be dedicated to work within Centre for Biomedicine, University of Hull in a MRC/Nc3Rs project ‘ARTEMIS: ARTificial blood vessels for Thrombosis, Endothelial Modelling, and artificial Intelligence Simulation’. This position is funded by the MRC and is part of a major new initiative which aims to facilitate the development of human based research models to allow for a greater understanding of disease and accelerate the creation of new medicines.
We are seeking a highly competent Project Administrator to coordinate ARTEMIS to deliver these outputs. The ideal candidate will have a track record of aiding the management of large-scale projects, particularly those involving multiple partner HEIs. This role requires excellent organisational and interpersonal skills alongside the ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders, and an understanding of the UK research landscape.
As holders of an Athena Swan Gold Award we are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, and follow the Athena SWAN Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the post
Key responsibilities include project coordination and management, including day-to-day management of ARTEMIS, working with the PI and CoIs to ensure that all activities and outputs are delivered on time and within budget.
Stakeholder engagement is an important aspect of this role, with the project administrator acting as a point of contact for all project partners, stakeholders and funders. As such, you will be expected to organise, take minutes and potentially be involved in writing papers or present relevant information for meetings in conjunction with academic colleagues, the independent advisory group, the strategic advisory board and support the organisation of workshops and conferences at the University of Hull and in our partner HEIs. You will also be expected to help co-ordinate the network within all the clusters in this network to ensure that the activities and outputs required across the projects are also achieved. This will therefore involve significant team working abilities, across multiple different groups of individuals, but will also require an ability to work effectively at an individual level. Furthermore, you will be expected to potentially work to tight deadlines to ensure effective project delivery.
As well as liaising with partner HEI’s finance teams, you will be responsible for managing the budgets held at Hull, including responsibility for financial reporting. This may involve both written financial reports, or oral presentations to the relevant advisory boards. You will be required to monitor expenditure, organise travel arrangements and ensure compliance with funding requirements and institutional policies, which will include ensuring partnership agreements are in place where necessary.
You will also take a key role in preparing regular reports for the MRC and will work with academic PI and CIs to ensure that accurate records of all ARTEMIS activities are kept, including data management and outcome mapping to agreed timelines.
