Job Title: Payroll Officer
Location: Poringland, Norfolk
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, depending on experience
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full Time (37.5 hours) Monday to Friday between 08:00 – 18:00
The successful candidate will be required to be flexible to accommodate the needs of the role.
About You
As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls, maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. Working closely with the Finance team, you will also be responsible for payroll accounting activities including payroll journals, reconciliations and supporting month-end processes. You will provide excellent service to employees and managers while ensuring robust financial controls are maintained across all payroll-related transactions.
This role is full time however part time would also be considered.
Requirements
To apply for our Payroll Officer role, you will need (Essential):
· Experience of running multiple payrolls running concurrently and dealing with queries relating to pay, annual leave, overtime and expenses
· Relevant Payroll qualification (CIPP), or equivalent experience
· Minimum Grade 4 (or equivalent) in GCSE English and Maths
· Experience of dealing with competing demands and working to deadlines
· Experience preparing and posting payroll journals.
· Experience reconciling payroll control accounts and nominal ledger balances
· Familiarity with usual Microsoft 360 Suite of programmes (Outlook, Excel etc.) and a digital payroll and HRM system such as iTrent
· Ability to manage own workload, meet deadlines and use initiative, as well as work cohesively and collaboratively with the wider finance team
· Excellent organisational and time management skills
· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high quality output
· Experience managing sensitive data and adherence to strict confidentiality and privacy requirements
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to respond to unexpected demands in a calm, responsible and productive manner
The ideal candidate will also have (Desirable):
· Experience in iTrent software
· Experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis
· Experience of month-end accounting processes
· Experience working within a finance department
· Experience working within the healthcare sector ensuring compliance with best practice legislation, regulation, policy and procedure
· Experience of working within multi-disciplinary environments and building relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to include other professionals, organisations, staff , and others
