Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation.

Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.

As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Buyer to develop and maintain relationships for categories of spend in order to support the business with direct materials for the production of Evolito products.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the delivery of a defined category of spend including working with internal and external stakeholders to assess manufacturability and deliverability of parts, identifying suppliers and appropriate supply routes aligned to production requirements
  • Managing suppliers through appropriate governance depending on the complexity and criticality of the commodity and/or supplier risk
  • Negotiating pricing aligned to expected forecast and challenging supplier costs
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers within commodity scope and driving through deliverables.
  • Owning procurement activities for the category of spend including managing procurement activity in line with production requirements, expediting parts, supplier returns, manage supplier KPIs, and invoice queries for responsible categories
  • Owning sourcing and make vs buy decisions relating to commodity scope with internal stakeholders
  • Working with operations and planning to align procurement activities to production requirements for both development and production standard manufacturing activity
  • Supporting supplier quality approval processes and co-ordinating open actions on quality deliverables
  • Managing and resolving any delivery escalation items
  • Supporting cost reduction and change management initiatives, and be involved with continuous improvement activities

Skills and experience required:

  • Qualified to CIPS Level 4 or equivalent experience
  • Previous proven experience working in a similar role within Procurement
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment (automotive, aerospace, industrial)
  • Experience working with MRP systems
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships (internal and external)
  • Proactive, positive and creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • A flexible approach to work
  • Willingness and ability to travel.

Desirable:

  • Experience of analysing and negotiating open book costing
  • Good knowledge of range of manufacturing techniques and processes
  • Experience in negotiating and monitoring long term agreements.
