About The Role

To aspire to become a Repair Technician. Following the successful completion of the apprenticeship scheme a permanent position will be reviewed.

The principle role involves the servicing, repair and testing on a wide range of Draeger Breathing Apparatus products and Accessories.

Tasks

  • Carry out service and repairs on a wide range of Draeger Breathing Apparatus products and Accessories.
  • Repair and testing of various reducer and valve assemblies.
  • Repair and testing of all products within the Draeger Escape range of equipment.
  • Carry out cylinder recharging.
  • Repair and testing of all Draeger Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment.
  • Repair, testing and commissioning of telemetry systems.
  • Use of automated test equipment for fault finding and final acceptance testing.
  • Completion of all technical documentation relating to the repairs process.
  • Accurate completion of product test certificates.
  • Comply with internal quality standards.
  • Prepare technical repair reports as required by the customer.
  • Providing technical answers and advice in response to customer queries.
  • Expectations are that customer contact will be required.
  • Flexible approach to other repair orientated tasks as required.
  • Provide occasional support to Field Service Engineers.
  • May be required to support activities in other areas of the Service Department.

Reporting Relationships

Manager - Engineering Supervisor

Size of team/environment - Working directly as one member of a team of 6, supported by the wider service department of 26 people.

Role Requirements

  • Education/Qualifications
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English, Science and Mathematics
  • Related Experience
  • Desire to work in an Engineering role
  • Skills, Special Competencies
  • Self-Motivated
  • Methodical
  • IT literate
  • Ability to communicate, both written & verbal.
