Job Title: CNC Grinder

Location: Yeovil

Role Type: Permanent role, 37 hour week with an early finish on Fridays

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for CNC Grinder to work at our Manufacturing Site in Yeovil. The role will involve manual grinding and turning of Aerospace Components, in accordance manufacturing instructions, Specifications and Customer/Regulatory Requirements, working within an empowered team environment to meet delivery requirements and reporting directly to the Team Lead.

We are looking for individuals who have completed an apprenticeship in milling, turning, grinding or machining, or/and have previous experience in CNC Grinding.

Key Responsibilities

• Manual / CNC Grinder, this will entail the setting and planning of production and non-production work utilising various materials on manual grinders and some CNC Grinder’s
• Internal/External grinding, surface grinding and precision match grinding
• OCQ – Operator Control of Quality.
• To achieve on time delivery by ensuring work is completed on time and to the required standard.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, following the process layout and documentation procedures.

Key Skills And Qualifications

• Engineering Apprenticeship or an Indentured Skilled qualification in machining, milling, turning or grinding

OR

• Knowledge of machining, CNC grinding.
• Broad knowledge of hand measuring equipment such as Vernier, Micrometer, Thread and plug gauges.
• Knowledge of grinding tolerances/finishes to aerospace standards i.e. 0.0002” internal/external diameter, 2-4 micro inch surface finishes and concentricity of 0.0002”
• Honing experience.
