Note – Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

Hours/Weeks: 37 Hours | 52 Weeks Per Year

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Health & Social Care – Lecturer to join our

Health, Social Care & Childcare department at The Bedford College Group .

As a lecturer in Health & Social Care, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

• Deliver high-quality teaching – Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons across Entry Level 3 to Level 5, ensuring programmes meet awarding body standards.
• Support student success – Motivate and guide learners to achieve their potential, monitor progress and provide timely feedback and support.
• Create engaging learning environments – Develop inclusive, innovative teaching methods and materials that meet diverse student needs.
• Drive curriculum and college development – Contribute to course design, continuous improvement, employer links and promotional activities.
• Ensure quality, compliance and professionalism – Maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, uphold safeguarding, EDI and health & safety standards, and commit to ongoing CPD.

About You

• Qualifications & training – Relevant degree in Health and Social Care (or Psychology/Sociology), GCSE English & Maths, and a teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards), alongside assessor/verifier awards and mandatory safeguarding, EDI and IT training.
• Industry knowledge & experience – Recent hands-on experience in Health and Social Care, with up-to-date subject knowledge and proven understanding of sector developments.
• Teaching & development expertise – Experience delivering Health and Social Care programmes, mentoring learners and using innovative, multimedia approaches to enhance learning.
• Strong communication & teamwork skills – Able to build effective relationships, influence at all levels and contribute positively within a collaborative college environment.
• Professionalism & organisational ability – Highly organised, IT confident and committed to safeguarding, equality and continuous professional development, with a flexible and student-focused approach.
