We have a fantastic opportunity for a Field Service Technician based in the East of England (Boston / South Lincolnshire / North Norfolk area) primarily to support the running of our GVO portfolio plus maintenance on other local boilers, batteries or other company equipment as required.

The role will involve

  • Undertaking planned maintenance works in a thorough manner, following service tasks schedules where available
  • Undertaking reactive maintenance/call outs and the swift and effective resolution of heating faults.
  • Promptly and comprehensively completing the appropriate planned and reactive maintenance reports in the required format
  • Taking and logging photographs to the report including before and after photos for planned services and photos identifying any issues relating to reactive maintenance visits
  • Identifying any parts which may require replacement and include as much detail as possible in the report to enable parts to be ordered
  • Escalating any serious issues or Health and Safety/compliance concerns to the Service Manager
  • Assisting the Service Manager with any technical queries and support
  • Undertaking all tasks according to Health and Safety requirements and wear correct PPE
  • Completing risk assessments and method statements for specific tasks as required
  • Undertaking installation, surveying and repair works as required.

What we are looking for

A passionate and driven individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and has the following knowledge, skills and experience –

  • A mechanical / electrical / hydraulic background
  • A full clean UK driving licence
  • An engineering qualification such as C&G, HNC, NVQ or similar is desirable
  • An understanding of health and safety procedures and statutory compliance
  • A good team player with a willingness to try and problem solve
  • Proficient IT skills to complete service reports, H&S reports, timesheets etc.
  • A high attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • A flexible approach and willingness to undertake varied tasks, and travel to different sites
  • Experience with biomass systems is desirable
  • Experience of working on-call in a previous role is desirable

Additional information

  • Location: East of England
  • Overtime and on-call is required – details to be confirmed at interview
  • Competitive salary to be discussed at interview
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch break, 40 hours per week
