Baltic Apprenticeships are excited to be working with Advania UK to hire an enthusiastic and motivated IT Support Technician Apprentice to join their growing Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) team based in Manchester.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 IT Support Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job

  • Assisting with resolving assigned IT support tickets and working towards first-time fixes where possible
  • Supporting remote IT assistance for users across the business
  • Assisting with onsite support activities including floor walks and walk-up support
  • Learning troubleshooting techniques from senior engineers and subject matter experts
  • Supporting the Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) team during onsite activities
  • Assisting with basic fault diagnosis, infrastructure checks, and minor upgrades under supervision
  • Supporting scheduled visits to other UK offices alongside senior engineers when required
  • Assisting with hardware installations, asset management, and stock handling
  • Learning how to clearly document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and workarounds within tickets
  • Contributing to internal knowledge articles for common IT issues as your confidence develops
  • Supporting meeting room and collaboration technologies
  • Working within service level agreements (SLAs) and structured IT support processes
  • Coordinating with vendors regarding repairs and hardware support

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll gain valuable experience in:

  • IT Service Management tools such as ServiceNow
  • Supporting Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Hardware lifecycle and asset management
  • Vendor management and repair coordination
  • Communication and customer service within a professional business environment

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous customer service experience with a genuine passion for IT and technology
  • Strong interest in IT support, infrastructure, and technology
  • Organised and detail-oriented approach to work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a structured, process-driven environment
  • Positive and proactive attitude with a “can-do” mindset
  • Willingness to learn and complete an apprenticeship programme
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to develop technically
  • Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential
  • Grade 4/C in Maths GCSE and 5/C in English GCSE is required for this programme

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • Salary of £16,640 per annum
  • Salary reviewed and increased after the first year
  • Monday to Friday working pattern
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Flexible working hours between 09:00–17:00 / 18:00
  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

Baltic Apprenticeships’ IT Support Technician Level 3 programme is designed to equip apprentices with the technical and professional skills required to succeed in a modern IT support environment.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will develop knowledge and experience in:

  • IT fundamentals and troubleshooting
  • Operating systems and device support
  • Networking and infrastructure basics
  • Cyber security principles
  • Customer service and communication
  • Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies
  • Ticketing systems and IT service management
  • Hardware and software support processes

Your apprenticeship training will combine workplace learning with expert-led sessions from Baltic Apprenticeships to support your development and progression throughout the programme.
